Terms of Service

By using Ut Finance, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. If you are under 13, do not use the app or create an account. Ut Finance is a local-first financial software service with optional cloud-based collaboration features. The service is provided as-is during the beta period. Your use of Ut Finance is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

1. Financial Disclaimer (Not Advice)

Ut Finance is a data management and interpretation tool. It does not provide regulated financial, investment, or tax advice. The "Guardian" alerts, "Health Score," and "Budget Wizard" insights are provided for informational awareness only. Compliance obligations vary by jurisdiction.

2. User Verification Requirement

Ut Finance utilizes AI for data extraction and analysis. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all parsed transactions and budget calculations. AI-driven responses are tools for awareness; the final deterministic check remains with the user.

3. AI Action Execution & User Responsibility

The AI assistant can propose and execute actions within the app on your behalf, including creating budgets, logging expenses or income, transferring funds between wallets, creating or updating goals, managing scheduled transactions, updating shopping lists, and modifying categories. All state-changing actions require your explicit approval before they are applied. You remain fully responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-suggested changes to your financial records before confirming them.

4. Shared Wallets & Collaborator Responsibility

If you use Shared Wallets, you understand that wallet data—including transactions and receipts—will be visible to authorized collaborators based on assigned roles. You are responsible for inviting correct participants and managing access roles. Shared-wallet synchronization requires cloud-based infrastructure and may not always be instantaneous during beta.

5. Personal Multi-Device Sync

You may enable synchronization of your financial data across multiple devices that you own. This feature uses cloud-based infrastructure to relay encrypted sync messages between your devices. You are responsible for ensuring that only your own devices are signed in to your account.

6. External Content Import

You may import images from third-party apps into Ut via your device's share sheet for receipt scanning. You are responsible for ensuring that any images you import do not contain sensitive information belonging to other individuals without their consent.

7. Third-Party Services & Advertising

Ut Finance may utilize third-party providers for services such as cloud hosting (Firebase), background processing, AI analysis (Google Gemini), analytics, and advertising (Google AdMob). Your use of these features is subject to the terms and privacy policies of these specific providers.

8. Subscriptions & Billing

Premium features and AI credit packages may be managed via third-party platforms such as RevenueCat, the Apple App Store, or Google Play Store. All billing, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the terms of the respective platform. I do not have direct access to your credit card or billing information.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Cancelling a subscription stops future charges; it does not refund the unused portion of the current billing period. Your access to paid features continues until the end of the period already paid for, after which your account reverts to the free tier automatically.

9. Referral Program

Ut Finance may offer a referral program through which you can earn rewards by inviting new users. Referral codes, redemption status, and reward preferences are managed through the Ut backend. Rewards are subject to the terms and availability of the current program phase and may be modified or discontinued at any time.

10. Data Stewardship & Responsibility

By default, Ut Finance stores financial records locally on your device. I cannot recover your data if your device is lost or the app is deleted. You are the steward of your financial database. I recommend using the integrated, encrypted Google Drive backup feature to prevent data loss.

11. Bug Reporting

You may voluntarily submit bug reports through the in-app reporting feature. Any screenshots or descriptions you provide are submitted at your discretion. Do not include passwords, financial account numbers, or other sensitive credentials in bug reports.

12. Beta Status & Service Changes

Ut Finance is currently in beta. Features and algorithms may be refined to improve reliability. I reserve the right to modify or discontinue features to enhance the overall stability and utility of the operating system.

13. Account Suspension & Service Termination

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abuse of the service, or if continued operation poses a legal or technical risk. Where practicable, I will give you reasonable advance notice before suspension or termination.

If the Ut Finance service is discontinued as a whole, I will provide at least 30 days' advance notice where possible. Your locally-stored financial data remains on your device and is unaffected by any service shutdown. Cloud-held data (account metadata, shared wallet records) will be available for export during the notice period, after which it will be permanently deleted.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ut Finance is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or financial losses arising from use of the service. Users remain responsible for verifying records and decisions before acting on them.

15. Service Limitations

Errors, delays, or discrepancies may still occur, including those caused by manual input, OCR or AI processing, exchange-rate handling, or third-party service interruptions. Users are responsible for reviewing their records and for complying with applicable tax, reporting, and legal obligations.

16. Intellectual Property

The "Financial DNA" behavioral fingerprinting, the "Guardian" persona system, and all branding associated with Ut Finance are the property of the developer.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
